Sound doctrine is essential to a healthy Christian life. What we believe influences how we live, worship, and serve God. This is why the Apostle Paul instructed Timothy to take heed to himself and to his doctrine, continuing faithfully in the truth. In these last days, many false teachings are spreading rapidly, and some believers are accepting them without examining the Scriptures. Doctrines that promise earthly prosperity while neglecting repentance, holiness, and eternal life can gradually shift people’s attention away from Christ. A teaching should never be accepted simply because it is popular, emotionally appealing, or preached by a famous minister. We must study God’s Word diligently, examine every doctrine, and remain willing to receive biblical correction. As we await Christ’s return, let us hold firmly to sound doctrine and refuse teachings that contradict the truth of Scripture. Scriptural Readings for the Day 2 Timothy 4:2–3, 16 (KJV) 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.” Titus 2:1 (KJV) “But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:” Prayer Heavenly Father, establish my heart in the truth of Your Word. Give me wisdom to recognize false doctrines and courage to reject teachings that contradict the Scriptures. Help me to remain faithful to sound doctrine until the coming of Christ, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
