I have heard many people complaining of how friends ruined their lives. Recently, I watched a video of a young man who whose life and career were ruined. He narrated how he couldn’t continued with his training to become a naval officer. He said a friend lured him into doing drugs. The type of friends we keep is very important. One thing that many people have not really used is their right to choose their friends by themselves. Some people have not even realized that they have the right to choose whoever becomes their friend. If you are among such ignorant people, please know that it is your right, start using it to from today. Even Jesus Christ chose His Disciples by Himself. Mark 3:13-15 KJV “And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. 14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach, 15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils”. Even Judas Iscariot that betrayed Him was chosen by Him. Jesus Christ once asked: “Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?” John 6:70. Judas Iscariot was chosen because he was useful. It is your right to choose your own friends. Did the friends you have now chose you or you chose them? If they chose you, are they actually qualified to be your friends? This is food for thought.
